Severe Earthquake Rocks Turkey
Received Friday, 11 a.m. , ANKARA, August 18. The official Turkish news agency reports that at ieast 20 people were killed and 52 injured in an earthquake which rocked a wide area in Eastern Turkey today. Semi-official sources said that 1200 people are homeless. Panicstricken people were camping in the fields outside the town of Erzerum. A village near Erzerum, which was the epicentre of the earthquake, was completely destroyed.
