Money To Invest If Politics Are Right
Eeceived Thursday, 7.35 p.m. NEW YORK, August 17. According to the New York Times the Secretarv of the Tnterior, Mr. Krug said today that Fnited States business men were prepared to invest 300,000,000 dollnrs in Foreign countries. The Times said Mr. Krug was amplifving n pledge given earlier at the Fnited Nations conference on world resources, in which. he stated the Fnited States would Iielp develop backwnrd nations. Mr Krug said competent experts had informed him that the sum would be available from American invpstors to cnrrv out President Truman's four noint progra'ume but there would have to be the right political atmosphere in the countries reouirmg aid. Ruch an investment would be ten or fifteen times preater than the amount the Fnited States intended to give Westown Europe under the Marriiall plan.
