Women's Bowling Club Elects Officers

The annual general meeting of the Shanno'n Women-'^ Bowling Club was held iri Laurvig's Hali recehtly. Owing to the illness of the president, Mrs. Fitzgerald, Mrs. Edmonds presided over a good attendance of membets. ApolGgies were received from Miss MacDonald and Mesdames Lind, Barber and Stern. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows. —President: Mrs. Cronauest; vicepresidents: Mesdames Hunter and Tricker; secretary: Mrs. Aitchison;. selection committee : Mesdames Graham and Laing; de7egates to Manawatu Centrer Mesdames Cronquest and Aitchison; refreshments stewards: Mesdames Peni and Wilson. Prospects for the coming season appear very bright. Several ladies have signified their intention. of becoming members and the opening of the season, which will take place on the Tuesday following the men's opening- day, is beihg keenly awaited.
