Radio Network For Empire Games
AUCKLAND, August 17. Eadio coverage of the Empire games, in Auckland in February next will be on an international basis. The Australian and British broadcasting authorities are sending observers and commentators. The Canadian and Soutli African radio services are interested and will probably send their own men. Television films of the contests may be flown to England and projected over the television network there. The distance and variations in time will afEeet the direct radio broadcasts to listeners in Britain. However, commentaries will be speeded to England by the radio telephone services, cables, airmailed recordings and possibly by retransmissions in Australia of broadcasts from New Zealand shortwave stations. The New Zealand National Broadcasting Service will instal broadcasting equip ment for all overseas broadeasters.
