The Priine Minister's (Mr. XehnO ■ anniversarv call to the nation was "Work." TTe said the third year of . independence would end the period of transition and herald in the birth of the Tndian Republic "for which nianyl of us have Jaboured throughout our lives. ' ' Mr. Nehru, in an anniversarv message to Tndinns abroad. said that despito difficulties, India faced the third year of independence with confidence I'akistan's T'rirne Minister. Liaqunt .Mi Khan. was cheered when he an | nounced at independence eelebrations that "full diplomatic relations with J tho SovW Union will soon be in- 1 angnrated."
