Move To Form Surf Patrol At Waitarere
"Let us keep our beach safe at all times," writes the Levin Junior Chamber of Commerce in drawing attention to the public meeting to be he'd in Levin on Wednesday evening with a view to forming a surf life-saving patrol at Waitarere Beach. f "The time has come," the appeal adds, "when the citizens of this town and district must co-operate in an endeavour to promote safe bathing at our beaches. For some time now the neceSsity of a patrol at Waitarere Beach has been apparent, and the pity of it is that t has not been established eariier, when valuable lives may have been saved. Neighbouring beaches with smaller populations than ours have efficient patrols and, remember, a ^urf-patrolled beach is a popular beach. "Let us get behind those who have volunteered for beach patrol work. Our timely support will be appreciated."
