Improved Parking At Domain Urged By Inspector

There appeared to be some trouble in regard to parking in Domain Road when sports were being held on the domain, said Traffic Inspector C. L. Davis in his monthly report to Wednesday night's meeting of the Otaki Borough Council. Drivers seemed reluctant to park their cars too far on the grass because of the danger of becoming stuck in the mud, which frequently happened. Inspector Davis suggested that shingie be placed close to the fence, thus enabling cars to get baek on to so'.id ground. The works commntee was authorised to carry out this suggestion. The inspector's report advised that 12 applicants for drivers' licences had been tested during the month. Six had passed and the

remainder had : heen advised to learn the regulations and come up for re-examination. There' , were two accidents in the district during the month, no serious injuries being suffered in either case. Information had been received from the district office dealing with rear | lighting on cycles. The Road Safety Rouncil had recommended to the 'department that rear lamps on bicycles be fitted when supplies became available.
