Tyre Factory May Have To Cease Production

WELLINGTON, August 12. The waterf ront hold up at Auck- - land is delaying cargoes for Wellington from overseas which are in many instances "urgently needed, stated shipping companies today. An exaanple quoted was the predicament of the tyre factory in the Wellington district which was waiting for a. large and already- delayed shipment of carbon for manufacturing purposes from the freighter Rudhy. The factory was faced with the threat of having to cease production if the arrival of carbon was delayed much longer. The Rudby has large quaritities of lubrication oil for both the Railways and Hydro-electric Departments, also agricultural tractors and many other large quantities of general petroleum products.
