More Resignations From Labour Union Circles
•CHEISTCHHECH, August 12. -Mr. John 'Eoberts, president of th& North Canterbury Lhbour Eepresentation Committee for many 'years, and. Mr. F. L., Langley, a member of the executive, tendered their resignations at a meeting of delegates to the committee last evening. The meeting deeided not to aceept, Mr. Eoberts' resigr nation, and at his fequest he was given. a forlnight in which- to ' reconsider his decisibn. The meeting also passed a resolution refusing to aceept Mr. Langley 's resignation. He -tbb. was asked to take;a fortnight in which to 'reconsider his decision, but is yeported to have informed the meeting tliat- his mind was fully made up and that he could not continue as a member of the executive. Mr. Eoberts is Teported ta have expressed uneasiness at the result of the referendum on compulspry military training and coneern at the submerging of many of the original planks of the Labour Party.
