Handling People. •"We've all got to be able to handle people — that's very important — and for that you've got to have — well I should say two qualities in plenty — patience and an insight into people's makef-up so that you can sense immediately just how to get the best out of them. That's one of the parts of the job I like best— because it's on the accuracy of your judgment that the degree of your success with each speaker depends. We get all kinds of temneraments to deal with, sensitiye, stubborn, nervous, eonfident, irritable or easy-going — there are never two the same."— - Isobel .Ann Shead talking about her, job a's a talks producer in the BBC's general overseas service.
