Eeceived Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDOX, August 10. The 1S5.000 Polish officers and men who fought with the British forces during the war and who were given sanctuary in Britain when hostilities ceased, have now virtuallv all been repatriated, resettled in other countries or given civilian emplovment in Britain. As a result the Polish Besettlement Corps into which the men were formed after the war and which is now reduced to only 3000 officers and men, will be disbanded at the end of Septernber. Of the -185,000 Poles who left Poland during the war and formed themsolves into fighting units supportinjr the Western Allies, only 103,000 joined the Polish Eesettlement Corps in Britain, the remainder returning to Poland or distributing themselves by emigration, principa'lly to Canada, the United Blates, Argentina, Australia and France. Of those who joined the Eesettlement Corps, the British Ministrv of Labour found work 1 for 68,000 and many more found their own emplovment. Only a comparativeIv small number has, however, taken British nationality and many of the Poles S'till remaining in Britain. would return to their own country if political conditions there became more favourable to them. The majority of Poles absorbed into British industry went on the land or into the mines.
