School Jubilee Committee Furthers Plans
Preparations for the Levin Primary Sehool's diamond jubilee, which f alls ih February, 1950, were advanced still further when, -at an enfchusiastic and much larger meeting last night, various committees were set up and ways and means • of raising the necessary finance thoroughly gone into. The meet--ing was preside'd over by Mr. W. Salmons. A stock committee to supervise the stock drive was set up, comprising Messrs A. Prouse, W. Procter and R.' Butt. A women's committee and a town committee were also formed. It was stated that already there had been a response to the appeal "for stock, there being donated to date a buflock, sheep and pigs with promises of stock also coming to hand. It was also decided to hold a jubilee dance in order to increase !the funds. ponations would be welcomed and also the addresses of ex-pupils who have left the district and those who have not yet come forward who still reside here. jThese can be handed or posted to ithe jubilee secretary, Mr. L. Salirnons, 62 Queenwood Road, Levin. The next meeting of the com- ! mittee will be on August 31 and all interested are asked to, attend.
