Pretty Otaki Wedding

A pretty wedding took place recently at All Saints' Church. Otaki, when Marie Olive, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Robertson, of Te Horo, and John, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Speakman, of Lancashire, England, were joined together in holy matrimony. The officialing minister was Canon H. E. K. Fry. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, looked charming in a long sleeved frock of moire taffeta, with fitting bodice and a basque, finishing with a point at the back and a long train. The embroidered tulle veil was he^ in place with a coronet of white carnations and freesias. She carried a shower bouquet of similar flowers. Attending the bride was her sister, Mrs. P. Arcus, as matron of honour, who wore a frock of deep pink crepe, with a long bodice, three-quarter sleeves and a peplum at the hip-line. Her shower bouquet was of violets, coloured freesias and pink Siock, and she wore a head spray of the same flowers. Little Jennefler Whiting, of Petone, eousin of the bride, was flower girl and looked very sweet in a long frock of apple green erepe, with long bodice, puff sleeves and a wide friT at the bottom of the skirt. She carried a basket of pink flowers and wore pink flowers in her hair. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horse shoe by her little sister, Lois. The bridegroom . was attended by Mr. Frank Spence, R.N.Z.A.F., Ohakea, as best man. The reception Was held in the Anglican Hall, where the guests, including visitors from a wide area, were received by the bride's mother. She wore a hyacinth blue frock, with hat to match, and tan accessories. When the young couple left for their honeymoon in the South Island, the bride was wearing a duck egg blue frock, with coat to match and black accessories. The happy couple will make their home in Bulls, where the bridegroom is stationed at Ohakea with the R.N.Z.A.F.
