Personal. , Mr. Bruce Knox, an erstwmle resident, was a weekend visitor to Otaki. Mrs. A. W. Broadway, of Rangiuru, has again had to enter the Palmerston North Hospital for treatment. ■ Mrs. T. Hedges, of Wellington, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wallington, Mill Roa'd. Turanga, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Baker, of Miil Road, is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital, where he is under observation for suspected appendicitis. Ian, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. . W. Smith, of Tasman Beach, had the misfortune to injure his hand while having boxing practice at Tamaki, where he is undergoing training for the^ navy. It is thought that a bone was splintered. Youthful "Swaggers." Some unusuai sights are evident in and around Otaki. Boys large and smail with their packs up, the packs a.so large and smafi; all sorts of hand carts, some of very old vintage, seem to have been resurrected and some resultant queer noises coincide with the unusuai sights. As most parents are well aware, there is a bottle drive on at the State School and, judging by the enthusiasm being displayed, it seems safe to say at, this juncture even that when all the "dead marines" are congregated together a record collecoion will be the result.
