Polio in New York
Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, August 8. City health department officials today reported 42 new cases of infantile paralysis within the last 24 hours aua said the city's outbreak was a "xnoderate ' ' epidemic. Previously they had called it a mild epidemic. Fear of tne disease has caused a huge drop in the numbers attending metropolitan beaeh.es and other resorts. *
