Received Wednesday, 9 a.m. NOTTINOHAm, Auguat 9. New Zeaiand drew with Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge alter a' aua and, op the whole, i'ather un- ' mLerescmg game. ' X ottmgixamshire having (declared ; at fouFior 323 in the first innings, ; Hadiee deelared at lour for 329. ; The county scored 229 for four in - three and a nalf hQurs in their second innings, leaving New Zealand to make 224 in 2 hrs. 10 mins. Hadiee decided to go for runs. He opened with Reid and was out second bail, eaught behind the wieket. Smith and Reid both went quickiy irying to force the pace and Mooney was stumped. New Zealand had thus four fpr 57 but nmshed with 105 without , further . loss, thanks to a neat 54 not out by Wallace in 75 minutes. The perfect Trent Bridge pitch, which gave the bowlers all work and no hope, the slow pace of the Nottinghamshire batting on the first day and apart from a brilliant half-hour by Reid, a rather turgid performance by New Zealand on the second day made the match a listless affair. There was more Jife about the Nottinghamshire batting this morning, but its chief effeet was to make. the people wonder why they coulh not have pushed thmgs along in the ,same manner on Saturday.
