MASTERTON, Aug. 10. With the easing of the rain, further flooding in the Wairarapa has been averted, but much land is covered by flood water. One prominent settler referred to the flood as just an ordinary flooding. Practically all roads are now open. The water has subsided in the Martinborough area and the town is no longer isolated. . No serious damage is reported in the Wairarapa.
