Receiyed Tuesday, 9.30 a.m. NGTTTNGHAM, August 8. Ano,th.er record p.artpersnip. has been established in Engiand by tlie iN'ew Zeal^nders. "Rabone and Reid, Dy putting on 246 for the third . wicket against Nottinghamshire beat the sta'nd of 164 by Page and Lowry against "Sussex in 1937. They made these runs iii 3 hrs. 25 mins. (the duiation of Reid's innings), and at the close of play' New Zealand were four for 329. in reply to Nottinghamshire'fi four for 323 (declared). ' • A Reid and Rabone began slowly on a perfect pitch and Reid raced Raborib. to his century; then in 25 minutes of delightful batting he added 55 (26 fours and one six). It was Rabone's first century of the tour and he batted very soundly, with some graceful shots, for 120 (not out) in 5 hrs. 20 mins. His mnings included 10 fours. Twenty-three centuries have now been scored by the team during the tour, inc-uding twp double centuries. It is likely that Hadlee will declare tomorrow morning and that aime, Nottinghamshire s captain, will look for quick runs and then ieave New Zealand a target. This is the fifth new record partnersh'ip estab-ished for the New Zealanders in Engiand and the second in which both Rabone and Reid have figured. A crowd of about 15,000 attended the match.
