Tuis Marching Team Elects Officers
The annual general meeting of the Tuis intermediate marching team committee was held in the - Druids' Hall, Otaki, recently, when Mr. R. Bills presided over a very satisfactory attendance. An apology on behaT of the centre delegate, Mr. H. N. Fearnley, was tendered. The report and balance sheet submitted by the secretarvtreasurer, Mrs. R. Mather, was a'dopted, as was* the report of the committee 's activities throughout the year. The reports revealed that the financial position was very pleasing and that with an influx of new girls the oossibility of both senior and junior teams competing during the forthcoming season was recommended. Members present agreed that the prospects for the new season encouraged opiimism. A -cordial welcome was extended to Mr. T. Matthews, the team's coach, who outlined some of the methods he desired to introduce Votes of thanks were accoi'dea, and appreciative comment offered to the hard-working secreta.ry and her committee for .the successful outcome of their activities to date. Bevan; secretarytreasurer: Mrs. R. Mather; deYgates to Manawatu Marching Centre: Mrs. Mather and Mr. Matthews; committee: Mesdames Bevan, F Boggs, J. Ross, E. Smfth! Mr an-d Mrs. N. Taylor and Mr. R. Mather, with power to add. Mr. Bills reported on centre meetings held. Matters -pertaining to the marching movement in general were discussed, after which a , v°te of thanks to the chair, followed by supper, brought a successful meeting to a close.
