District Votes Solidly For Military Training
The OltaM eleictorate yesterdiay voted by an overwhelming majority for the compulsory military training proposal. Over 10,000 electors out of the total of some 16,000 eligible went to the poll. Of that number 8156 voted in favour of the proposal and 1902 against, a majority of 62S4. Below are given the voting figures at the various booths throughout the electorate: —
In the Levin Borough voting was 1788 for and 312 against. The returning officer, Mr. H. J. Henderson, eommented this morning that in the majority of the informal votes electors had crossed out both lines.
