NEW PLYMOUTH, August 2. As from last Mdnday, the BritiSh Petroleum Compauy o,f New Zealand Ltd. has taken over the supply of motor spirit to Government departments in a wide area of the North Island, according to a circular meniorandum from the Stores Control Board, issued to all departments. The area defined in the circular is the southern part of the North Island up to New Plymouth, National Park and Napier. The company has estahliShed depots at Masterton, Napier, New Plymouth, Ohakune, Palmerston North and Wellington. He would not like to discuss the position, said a representative of a large petrol company at New Plymouth today, when asked to comment on the terms and outeoine of the memorandum.
