All Eiigible To Vote Urged To Go To Poll Tomorrow the people of\ the Dominion will decide by referendum whether or not New Zealapd is to have the scheme of compulsory milifcary training outlined by the Government. With the international situation so unsettled the poll is- a most important /one and all eiigible to vote are, therefore, urged to exercise t'heir right so that the issue will be decided by a representative majority. . • • Voters must vote in- their own e'ectorate unless they have good reasons for not being able to return there before the close of the poll. Polling hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., which will enable most electors to vote in their home dis-. trict. Housewives and others who can vote in the morning or 'in the - early afternoon are asked to do so. This will help -avoid queues, and Wi'l assist the even spread of voting throughout the day. ^ Procedure In Voting. In voting the voter must" strike out one of these two lines, leaving untoucjied the line which shows the way he wishes to vote: — ■ I vote FOR compulsory military training. I vote • AGAINST compulsory military training. Those entitled to vote are every. person who was on the rolls at the last general election in 1946, whether or not they voted,. and also everyone who has since registered, either for a by-e'ection, for the referendum held on licensing and gaming last March, or for tomorrow's referendum.t Maori And Postal Voting. Maori voters will vote by declaration at a.ny polling place. Voting papers for their use will be printed in fcot'h English and Maori. There will be the usual provisions for postal voting. Those chiefly affected are people who are ill or infirm, those who are unable to reach a poPing place, through unavoidable reasons, and those who are absent from New Zealand.
