AUCKLAND, Aug. 1. Despite the penalties imposed the con version of motor vehicles was not -de--creasing, Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., said today when sentencing a Maori, Peia, Teia, aged 23, a railway fireman, to gaol foT six monthst for converting a truck valued at £500. A constable said that hearing an engine roaring, he found the truck jammed against a pole in a side street off Karangahape Road. Aceused said the driver was "round the eorner.
