Enough of the report has leaked out, says the Tribune, to indicate that for all practieal purposes, Britain s latest type of jets failed comnletely when the 8uperfortresses came in at an altitude of 35,000 feet to test the island 's defenees. American and British correspondents who rode in the Fortresses during the operation, reported that the bombeis experienced onlv "feeble and sluggish'' attacks at 35,000 feet and the jets were barely able to exceed the liombers"' speed in u straightv/av purBuit.
