Civic Theatre

"April Showers," which comes from the studio that produced such other great musical films as "Night and Day," "This is the Army,'1 and "Rhapsody i-n Blue," .opens its local engagement next Saturday at the Civic Theatre. Starring Jack Carson and Ann Sothern, "April Showers" has been endowed by Warner Bros., which started the parade of big musicals with the unforgettable "42nd Street" some years back, with production values, numbers, tunes, chorus lines, not seen on the screen in some time. Eleven songs are in the picture, with comedian Carson and lovely Ann Sothern, fame'd for comedy roles in the "Maisie" series, handling most of them.
