CHRISTCHURCH, July 25. j . A slasliing attaek upon the Communists whom he deseribed ;as a "troop of red-e-yed monsters ip, the shap.e of men," was inade 'by ,,the Minister.of. Railways (Mr. Semple) in a luneh-hour address at the Addington workshops this afternoon. j Mr. Semple was speaking in sup'port of the compulsory military training proposals, bnt most of his remarks ,eoneerned the Communists. i. i The only vote pnt was one of thanks, ' which was earried by acclamation>c{^'nly about six voiees being raised agamst r it. Mr. Semple was given an attemfcive liearing by abont 1000 workers, only : a groxip of al)out a dozen objeeting to i any of his remarks.
