Received Saturday, 1 a.m. LONDON, July 22. The Home Secretary (Mr. Chutei Ede) told the Commons that it was reportpd to him yesfejrday that thtee men with Communist affiliations — one Dutch named Blankensee and two American nationals named Goldhlatt and Maletta — had landed in Britain. "After satisfying my^elf that their visit here was eoncerned with thej docks dispute I decided it was conducive to the puhlic good that theyeshould he deported. x signed deportation orders and the police have detained the men. ' ' Mr. Chuter Ede added that the three aliens had qome from France where they had heen attending a Communist international seamen's gathering. Replying to a question ahout the presence of other pew arrivals in Britain Mr. Chuter Ede said: "There is a Canadian national who came here — a Mr. Harry Davies — although I helieve' that was not the name with which he was horn. I have no power to deport him, and I think that any suggestions would raise a grave issue on which we must not lightly emhark." It is understood, says Reuter, that the men- detained will he placed ahoard an outward hound airliner today. It is stated they flew to London with th' in-' tention of addressing the dock strikers after attending the conference at Mar seilles. Their nanles were attached to a supplementary passenger list suggesting that their departure from France was a last-minute decision, Mr. Ted Dickins, a memher of the London Dockers' ^Lqckout Committee, .tqld_ a mass meet'in: ' that the striking clocfeers' ' "committee would recommenil full resumption of work on Monday. He added that the Canadian ships would he cleared hy the Canadian Seamen's Union which had decided that m the. present j position it was forced to call off the strike in Britain.
