'peace treaty violations. The Note said Britain and Ihe United States had producod no new evidence of peace treaty violations to support their renewed request. In April of this year Britain and the United States sent Notes to Bulgaria, Rumania and Hungary alleging that j they had violated the ".freedom" | elauses of Their peace treaties. The So viet Government replied that the mea sures to whieh Britain and the United States objeeted in accordance with the treaty obligations to disband organisations of a Fascist type. Russia 's iatest rejection of the plan for a meeting of the heads of the three Powers' diplomatie missions repeats the argument of the first rejection and adds: "The Soviet Union sees no reason to reconsider its decision." According to a Neiy York message Britain and France told the Security Council that they would vote againsl applications for United Nations membership of Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Rumania and the Mongolian People"':Republie. When the Council resumed discussion of the 12 membership applications today both Sir Alexander Cadogan (Britain) and Mr. Guy De La Tournelle (France) stated their opposition to the five Soviet-supported eountries on the grounds of their disregard for fundamental human rights and free doms. Both delegates also opposed a Soviet resolution to admit all 12 candidates simultaneously. The other seven countries eoncerned are Ireland, Portugal, Transjordania, Italy, Austria, Finland and Ceylon. Six Alexander Cadogan said: "The Soviet resolution, in effect, would make the admittanee of certain States dependent upon the admittanee of othei? States."
