AUCKLAND, July 21. National trolley derby meetings will be held at Western Bprings Gtadium in November. Permission for two meetings at a rental of £250 a meeting, \yas granted by the Gity Couneil tonighL The meetings were approved only after considerable discttssion. Miss J. Rattray said the ijea behind the trolley derby was advertising and nothing else. The derby was not a character building sport and it would not encourage teamwork rn any. way. The object was the using of children for advertising purposes. Dr. B. II. Roche said the moral aspect of the derby should be thought over very carefully. The council might be introdueing in Auckland a dangerous sport. It would be a stimulant to children to build their own trollevs and would lead to further aceideuts in the city. Mr. J. W. Kealy said the objections rais^ had been considered by the committees which had dealt with the application. If the council would not give its permission, the derby authorities eould go to outside boroughs-
