WELLINGTON, July 20. The ban on waterfront overtime is expected to be confined to main ports and probably not extend to smaller ports. The reason for this, it is stated, is that even with the loss of overtime earnings, watersiders at the big ports such as Wellington will still have between £7 and £8 of pav weeklv. At the smaller ports with less work offering, wages would drop far below this if tre ban' were exteiided to those places. Thus far Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Bluff, which are c.onsidered major ports, have complied with tho direetive of the national council and imposed the ban._
