The day after the Rotoiti jarrived at the port of Canea, the ship's compaiiy, a gtiard of honour !and a buglbf pataded at Stida Bay cemetery together With a guard arid barid provided by the local gendarmefie. The New Zealand naval guard was inspected by Ihe • Gov-erndr-General of Orete. Prayers were read and wreaths wete laid both by the ship's officers and the Greek authorities, and "Last Post7' was sounded. Messages of goodwill sent by the GovernOr-Genera1 of New Zealand (Sir Bernard Freyberg) and the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) were read, to which the Mayor of Oanba replied.
