Survey Ship Brings Back New Birds
Received Mondav, 7 p.m. LONDON, July 18. There was some unexpected exeitement wlien the Antaretic survev ship John Biscoe, berthed at Routhampton, bringing back a mimber of rare wildfowl captured in the seas around the Falkland Island dependencies. First, a sheatli bill which had had its wings clipped to prevent its escape, fell over the side of the ship into tlie dock and had to be rescued by a motor Jaunch. Then a large turkev vultnre which was being. photographed, suddenly took to the air and landed upon the startleu photograph.er's shonlders. Both birds wcre subsequently sent to the London Zoo.
