"No coupons — no butter; that is the sensible policy," said Mr. H. Rqsen when prosecuting for the Rationing Controll'er in a ease in the Auckland Magistrate's Court. A witness stated that it wqs impossible for grocers to make morrect returns, as people came in without cpupons, and it was a case of giving them the butter or of losing a customer. Mr. Rosen's advice was for a firmer attitude. Death Fromi Burns. Extensive burns ^rhiSh proved fatal were suffered by a seven-year-old boy, Barry Andefson, at Whangaruru South. on Saturday afternoon. He was standing in front of an open fire to which wfipd had been added either by himsplf or a little girl, his clothes catching fire. The doctors at the Whangarei Hospital worked continuously for five hours to save his life, but the shock and the injuries were too severe.
