EVEN GAME AT LEVIN WON BY WANDERERS
Because of the evenness of the game between Wanderers and Rahui, played at the Levin Park Domain and won by the former 5 —3, hardly. any spectacular play was seen. Both'teams fielded.good packs and neither side had ihe advantage. One of the best forwards on the field was Milroy, who played *a really great game. He was, fast in foTowing up and this resulte'd in his scoring the try which won the honours for Wanderers. Lincoln was not up to his best. • Heremaia also played good football. Rahui had the more speedy backs and they often had Wanderers in trouble. From the kick off Rahui pressed into Wanderers' territory, but the forwards of the defending team relieved the situation. Again the Rahui backs got into action, with Merwood playing well at first fiveeighths. The game was unspectacular to watch in this ha'f, neither of the teams showing good passing or eombination. There was no score at half-time. Although the second half had a dull opening with about 20 minutes to go Wanderers commeneed a passing rush which pene\.rated deep into Rahui territory, With forwards also participating, Miirby finished off the movement by scoring und'er the posts. Graham converted. Rahui retaliated hard and with concentjated play pressed on the Wanderers touch line. Waaka secured the bafi and made a ;good dash to score in -the corner, : The kick missedi •Wanderers 5, Rahui 3. It was nqt long before the final whistle sounded with the scores unalbered.^ — ^ ^ - Mr. O. Aitchison was referee.
