Perishable Cargo On Strike Bound Ship

WELLINGTON, July 14. A request for the reeovery of a cargo of 63 casks of sausage casings lying in the hold of the strike-bound Canadian Vessel Tridale at Wellington, has been made by the shipper concerned. The proposal is that this cargo, which was loaded at Napier in April, should be transferred to another feliip for carriage to its destination at a North American port. At the request of the shipper the Waterfront Industrv Commision arranged discussions today with the Waterside Workers' Union and Harbour Board Employees' Union. A request was also made for the reeovery of about 1500 tons of general cargo — ehiefly wool — which was loaded at Napier for North America but has been lying in the Tridale holds since she was held up at Wellington in April .by the Canadian seamen's dispute. No decision was reached at today's discussions, the union representatives stating that they wished to refer the matter to their executives. • The Canadian crew of the Tridale issued another pamphiet today calling on all unionists for support of the Canadian Seamen 's Union in its dispute aud containing a live-point pro posal for settlement.
