Village To Be Built For Games Oarsmen
AUCKLAND, July 14. A village to accommodate more than 100 oarsmen and offieials, is to be built on the shores of Lake Karapiro for the rowing events of the Empire Games, Jlu addition some 2000 vards of earth will l>e moved, levelled and grassed to form a natural grandstand on the lake shore on propertv that will eventually be taken over by the Lake Karapird Domain Board. The organising committee of the Games has undertaken to perform the work and the Matamata ana Waipa County Councils and Cambridge Borough CoiHici] have agreed to find the £1500 required. The village will De built near the finishing line of the championship rowing course. r .
