Choosing Rugby Fifteen To Play Australia

The appointment of two selector^, one from each of the intereste'd. unions, to choose the combined Horowfienua-Manawatu . fiiteen to play against Australia, at Palmerston North on August 31, is favoured by the Horowhenua Rugby Union. At a meeting of its management committee on Tuesday night a letter was received from the Manawatu union asking for Horowhenua's views on the following points: The suggestion that the team play in Manawatu jerseys and that, as a matter of conyenience, the manager be appointed by Manawatu; the appointment of a.seiector or selectors and a eoach; and the proposal that the team should assemble in Palmerston North on the Tuesday prior to the match for practice and coaching. The committee decided to suggest -that two selectors be appointed an-d that Horowhenua's senior selector, Mr. D. J. Oliver, be its nominee. It agreed to the other suggestions put forw&rd by Manawaru.
