Press AssociationJ

(Per

WELLINGTON, July 11. Further developments in the waterfront situation may arise from discus6ions of the national council of the New Zoaland Waterside Workeis' Union in Wellington tomorrow. Some observers believe that' the council will recommend the extension to otlier ports of the 110 overtime policy at present being earried out in Auckland. The council will discuss the situation on the waterfront generally and a suspension of the powers and authorities of the Waterfront Authority at ihe port of Auckland. This is the first time for many years that a special meeting of the council has been called 'and only the third occasion since 1916, which indicat/.s the importance attached to the meeting.
