CHIANG-QUIRINO TALKS
Keceived Monday, 7.50 p.m. LONDON, July 11. The Assoeiated Press Manila correspondent says Chiang Kai-shek and President Quirino today discussed the formation of a non-military Pacific front ngainst the Communists. It is reported that theV tentatively agreed that the Philippines, Nationalist China and South Korea should form the nucieus of a Pacific union and Siam, Iiulonesia, India, Australia and New Zealaiul should be invited to join, I'rovision for mutual military aid was rejected on the ground that there was not enough arined strength in the countries concerned to warrant a military assistance clause. The anti-Communist front, however, would look earnestly to the United Htates for leadership, guidance and strength. The question of Japan's participation was not considered.
