BURKE HAS DAY OUT WITH BALL

" Received Sunday, 7 p.m. DERBY, July 9. It vvas as refreshing as a long cool drink on a parehing summer day, to see tlie New Zealanders set about Derbyshire with a will after their listlessness against Lancashire. Tliough Hadlee lost the toss for the thirteenth time in 14 games, New Zealand had the co'unty out in hours for 121 and then passed that number in 100 minutes. At close of play they were five for 176. 6 The most cheerful thing about Derby's extraetion, was the bowling of the leg spiriner Burke who bowled 16.4 overs, 7 maidens and took 6 wickets for 23 runs aided by grand fielding.
