Personal. ' Miss Valefie Williams left' Otaki pn Wednesday to take up a position in Wellington. : Mrs. R. Hamilton, of Rangiuru, intends visiting Hastings on Monday on holiday. Mr. Don Edhouse, formerly of Main Street, has commenced duties in Wellington. Misses Janet and Betty Hakaraia and Hira" and Pat Bell,' local pupils at Hukarere, Napier, are home for the term holidays. Card Evening Results. At the Otaki Band's card evening, held fn the Druids' Hall on Tuesday night, the usual very satisfactory attendance was seen. Prize-winners were Miss L. Frederickson, Mesdames.G. Jorey and R. Mather, and Messrs H. Cole and D. Dinnison. Vital Statistics. The registrar, Mr. C. G. Anderson, advises that eight European births were notified during the month of June, and also two Maori deaths, while three marriage notices were issued. For the quarter ending June 30, 29 European and nine Maori births were notified, together with three Maori deaths, while 12 marriage notices were issued.
