Demand from ex-servicemen and women for rehahiiitation loans continues unabated. This is exemplifie'd by most reoent statistics x.rom the department, which showt that durfng the month of May loan authorisations totalled £1,181,009 to 1518 applicants. These figures are higher than those of May, ' 1948, When the authorisations" tqtalied £962,824 to 1324 applicants. Authorisations at the end of May tatai I'ed £63,474,157 to ' 79,054 ex-.s,eryicemen and women. Loans have been for farms, houses, businesses, furniture, tools of trade and miscellaneous purposes. •
