Cripps To Speak On Britain's Finances

Stafford Cripps is , expected to make next week on Britain's dollar and goM ■ position, will be "startlihg" and may call for immediate aetion, says the Dai'y Express political cirrespondent. Commonweaith Fihance Ministers when in London for the conference, will be advised to save dollars especiaFy by cutting dollar imports. Sir Oliver Frahks,- British Ambassador in Washington, hastened ■■ to London today by p'ane at the' British Foreign Office's request. He is one of Britains' econofnic exper' s, and he will have 'discussions with Sir Stafford Cripps and other economic experts in London on Britain's ecohomic difflculties. He told pressmen in New York that the world hsd been moving from a seTer's to a buyer's market and buyers had bean'abie to pick and choose and even defer their orders. "Trade has become more 'difficulLi for everyone, and when yoU are dealing with Britain and other sterHng area countries, a relatively small shift, in the tuving and seBing situation can easily be quite significant," he said.
