Flash Flood Sweeps Town

Received Sunday, 7 p.m. MEXIOO U1T Y , June 25. At least 51 persons were killed, 40 injured and 200 are missing, as the result of a flash flood whicsh swept" the mining town of I»es Pachuca last night. Les Pachuca is the centre oi' a rich mining districti ahout 75 miles northeast of Mexico City. A cloud hurst over ,the moimtains sent water roaring . through the streets. Rain and hailstones pelted the area for more than two hours. The torrents turned automohiies over and hrought down a wave of mud from the hills, which caused vast property damage. Local authorities are still removing dehris and ctumpled buildings as the waters recede. The damage is estimated at more than 10,#00,000 pesos.
