ROTORUA, June 23. • A -terr-yfear-old boy was: eharged in the Rotorua Poliee Court today w-itft the manslaughter of his 11-year-old brother. Tt was alleged that the boy repeatedly. struck .his brother witli a broom handle at his home at Rotorua yesterday morning and that as a rcsult the 'brother died later hospital. . Detective Sergeant ■, J. B. MeLean said that the boy appeared- as the re- • sult of an ' ' unf ortunate oeenrrenee5' ' at his home Nat 8.30 a.m. yesterday. Aecused lived with his father, motlier and deceased brother. Following the ineident the injured brother died at 6.10 i p.m. yesterday. i Accused, who appeared before Messrs O. II. Freneh nnd J. J. Dillon, , J.P. 's, was remanded ih the custody of , his parents until June 29. Bail of £50 : on his own reeognisanee and a surety : of £50 was allowed. In making the applieation for bail, Detectiye Sergeant ; MeLean said that it was a "formality."
