Personal. The many friends of Mrs. Nicholas, wife of Rev- W. H, Nicholas, will regret to hear that she is in failing health. Mrs. D. and Miss H. Lea, of Coach Road, were visitors to Wanganui recently for the wedding of Miss Letlibridge. Miss C. Yates, matron of the Otaki Maternity Hospital, and her aunt, Mrs. F. E. Gurney, have left for a motor tour of the Auckland distriet. Card Evenings Popular. Another suceessful card evening was held hy the Otaki Band on Tuesday night. Despite a very wet night, a pleasing number attended. Prize-winners were . Mesdames S. Harvey, H. Grant and W. Houghton, and Messrs L. Moss and W. Nicholls. Date Fixed For Anglican Bazaar. At its meeting on Tuesday afternoon the committee of the All Saints' Anglican Ladies' Guil'd decided that the annual bazaar would be held this year on September 23. A children's party, an event which has proved exceedingly popular in the past, is also on the programme for this year, and the date agreed on for this was August 13. Hockey Player Farewelled.v The Anglican Hall saw members of the Raukawa Hockey Club and their friends gather on Tuesday night to bid au revoir to a popular team mate in Mrs. B. Norrie, who leaves soon to take up residence in Devonport. Dancing was indulged in and card games enjoyed, and during the evening Miss Rose Hakaraia and Mr. Tom Gray contributed pleasihg vocal numbers, with Miss Wen'o Tahiwi at the piano. At a suitable interlude Mr. C. Hook asked the guest to accept a small gift, a crystal bowl, as a gesture of appreciation and esteem from her clubmates. Mrs. Norrie suitably responded, stating that she would always cherish memories of many happy days spent with. the club. A tasty supper, followed by the singing of';"Auld Lang Syne," concluded the evening.
