— ■ — — ♦ Personal. „Mr. B. Hateley, of Mangaore, left last evening on a holiday visit to Rotorua and Auckland. Miss F. Burke, of the nursing staff of the Silverstream Hospitai, has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. B. Henshaw, Pretoria Road. Mr. and Mrs. J. Carter and Miss L. Carter, of Okuku Road, have returned home after spending a holiday at Wellington. Miss Nola MacDonald, of the nursing staff of the Porirua Mental Hospitai, is visiting her parents at Moutoa. Mrs. H. Curran, of Grey Street, left on Sunday to spend a holiday at Wellington. Mrs. Curran has only recently returned from hospitai after undergoing an operation. Many Maori Visitors. Many Maoris from all parts of the North Island have commenced to arrive at the Poutu Pah, Moutoa, where the funeral of the late Mr. Tommy Nepia 1s to take place. It is expected that the tangi, which is to be held either tomorrow or Thursday, will be one of the largest ever seen at the pah. Electrical Equipment Arriyesi Six overload circuit breakers arrived at the Mangaore Hydro Station yesterday. afternoon from Wellington. The unloading of these two and a half ton switches presented quite a problem, as they had to be unloaded at the site of the new switching station and not the power house, where the cranes could have handled them with ease. Measles Epidemic Passes. The recent epidemic of measles, which has been causing much concern to mothers of young children, seems to have passed. Parents will be greatly relieved as the outbreak has been most distressing. In one case as many as five children from a family were ill at the one time. However, there still remains a problem in the common cold. Both-adults and children are falling ready victims to the 'flu germ.
