Personal. i Mr. and Mrs. N. RadclifEei of; Tasman Road,. have recently re-i turned from a jten days' holiday in and around the Auckland district. Mr. and Mrs. F. Burgess (iiee> Miss Pauline Brown),. of Wellington, were visitors to Otaki bh 'Monday, en route to Hastings. Mr. and Mrs, . C. Cheeseman, of Palmerston North, visited Otaki at the weekend and were keen witL nesses of the representatiye hockey game. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Capstick, oi Sanson, the former the newlyappointed Labour candidate for the Otaki electorate, were visitors to Otaki on Sunday. Minister Thanked. Mr. C. F. Atmore took the opportunity of thanking the Hon. R. Semple on Sunday night for the wonderful job he had done as Minister of Works, and for his service on the War Cabinet during the fcroublous wartime period. Card Evening Held. The Tuis marching ;team committee he'ld the first night of its: series of six card evenings in the Druids' Hall on Thursday last when, despite a very cold nighc, thei'e was the usual satisfactory attendance. Prizes were annexed by Mesdames P. Bevan, E. Smith and H. Grant, and by Mr. L. Frederickson. In a competition Mrs. Rosoman was declared the winner.
