i ■ "v- ! The annual seven-a-side football tournament, held on the domain, Paraparaumu, on Wednesday, was - very well attende'd, all clubs except Johnsonville • fielding teams. Pahautanui A won the competition by beating Levin 5^-0. The results were: — First round. — Levin 11, Makara nil; Pahautanui B 5, Otaki -Te Horo 3; Pahautanui A 13, Upper Hutt B nil; Paraparaumu 5, Upper Hutt A nik Second round.— Levin 16, Pahautanui B nil; Pahautanui A 5; Paraparaumu nil. Final.— Pahautanui A 5, Levin nil. At aftemoon tea, which was served after the games, Mr. E. Dittmer, vice-chairman of the disfcrict committee, presented the Stephen Lancaster Memorial Shield : to the Pahautanui _ team. The ; Pahautanui team is to be con- ! gratulated in winning the shield, I and on the performance of the j team it was very well deserved, ' Thanks were also expressed to I the referees who had conducted | the various games, _ and to the ; Paraparaumu committee for its ! assistance in making arrangements | for the grounds and the catering. | All clubs were thanked for their ! fine spirit and support of the I activity. Excellent football had i been played by all the teams and ! in spite of the very cold weather, [ everybody had thoroughly enjoyed j^the games.
