^ That a damaged denture plate could hardly be considered as a ciaim against the insurance account of the union was the ru'ing of the Horowhenua Rugby Union's management committee when a delegate menlioned such an occurrence at Tuesday night's meeting of the committee. It was stated that a member of the club had played a match wi'th resultant . ill effects to his upper plate. The player had natural lower 'teeth and had kept his imper plate in fo protect the roof oi his mouth. A referee voiced the opinion that going on the fieM with artificial fceeth was a dangerous practice. In the case mentioned that night it was quite possible that the set might have broken and gone th'e other way, with detrimental effecis to the wearer. The committee ruled that no actual injury had been sustained by the player, although i't was in sympathy with him.
